Social Development and Environment Conservation Society (SODECS) is a non-profit, non-Governmental and non-political organization geared to community development which has been playing a significant role in the overall development of both mountain and Terrain rural communities as well as rectification of discriminated and suffering dulia for several years. SODECS is registered with (Govt. of Nepal Home Ministry) District Administration Office, Kathmandu (Regd.No-389/054/055) and has affiliation with Social Welfare Council, Nepal (Affiliation No. 6456/055) and NGO Federation Nepal, in 1997. SODECS is committed to solving critical social problems through education, research, training, and social investigation. The major areas of focusing include health, education, youth development, the environmental gradation, women empowerment and leadership development. SODECS emphasizes on two fundamental issues of remote and rural communities in Nepal: community capacity building and community development in an environment friendly manner. By undertaking research orient programs, sharing information, and supporting the community members in access to education; fresh drinking water; rural roads; health facilities and environmental issues, the organization is becoming a vital partner in the rural communities in Nepal to make people able to achieve a sustainable livelihood. 

Since its conception, SODECS has been constantly working with the people mostly in the rural areas by developing expertise in rural participatory approach. It has made a long standing development contribution in the field of health, education, environment, care for underprivileged class and uplift of indigenous people.
